PRACTICE IN THE TEACHING PROFESSION IN HIGHER EDUCATION

This article is the result of bibliographic research and experience in higher education teaching, whose objective is to analyze the profile of current and future professionals regarding the practice of the profession. To this end, articles and books published in recent years were selected as references that could contribute to understanding the reality and needs related to the topic. The results indicate that the quality of higher education and the work of teachers in the classroom are closely related. The development of structured thinking and learning skills and abilities within an appropriate environment is necessary to promote change and innovation, leading to significant improvement in the classroom. Higher education courses should provide support for new professionals and citizens. Only through the practice and development of intellectual activity carried out in a concrete and participatory manner can the formation of the whole person be achieved.
