Abstract

This article aims to explore the challenges and limitations in implementing active methodologies from the perspectives of Lilian Bacich and José Moran (2018) in the early years of elementary education. The central research question is: what are the challenges and limitations encountered in the implementation of active methodologies in the early years of elementary education? To answer this question, the authors' studies were analyzed through a descriptive and qualitative bibliographic review, which highlights the importance of active methodologies in promoting a more student-centered and dynamic teaching approach. The authors emphasize that, despite the benefits of active methodologies, such as increased engagement and the promotion of critical thinking, there are significant challenges in their implementation. Among the main challenges are teachers' resistance to adopting innovative practices, the lack of adequate training for the use of these methodologies, and the need for appropriate technological and material resources. Furthermore, the bibliographic review reveals that collaboration between teachers, administrators, and the school community is essential to overcoming these challenges and promoting innovative and inclusive education.
