Abstract

Education is one of the most important issues in society. In order to promote quality education, it is increasingly essential to reflect on the use of playful activities through active methodologies. Therefore, the general objective of this study was to analyze the use of active methodologies in playful activities in Early Childhood Education. The specific objectives were: to investigate the active methodologies used in Early Childhood Education and their contributions to the development of the individual; to analyze the contributions of active methodologies in the teaching and learning process of children in Early Childhood Education; and to investigate the relationship between play and active methodologies in Early Childhood Education. This work is based on bibliographic research to deepen the theme and better understand the phenomenon investigated. For the stage of locating sources and obtaining the material, the databases of the Scientific Electronic Library Online (Scielo), Google Scholar, and Capes Periodicals were used. The selection of the material had as an inclusion criterion: productions written in Portuguese on the theme. Articles that were not written in Portuguese, published in years prior to 2015 and that did not meet the research objectives were excluded. Therefore, the results showed that playful activities in active methodologies are extremely important for the cognitive, mental, physical and social development of human beings, especially children. Therefore, it is essential to use playful activities in active methodologies in Early Childhood Education, transforming them into protagonists of this process.
