THE ROLE OF SCHOOL LEADERSHIP IN THE PROCESS OF IMPROVING LEARNING OUTCOMES IN PUBLIC SCHOOLS OF ELEMENTARY EDUCATION II IN THE CITY OF RIO DE JANEIRO

This article presents the results of academic research carried out to obtain the title of Master in education. One of the objectives of this research was to identify which school leadership actions positively influenced the learning results of Elementary School II students from two schools in the 6th Education Coordination in the city of Rio de Janeiro, based on data from the Prova Rio 2022. The choice for this topic was motivated by my 25 years of professional experience in the Municipal Education Network of the city of Rio de Janeiro. The general objective of the research carried out was to develop a guide for school leadership actions that could be taken to other schools in that region. Initially, some theoretical references will be presented that support the role of the school director in improving learning results and some international and national research. point out that the leadership factor is the main contributor to improving student learning, isolating factors external to the school. Next, the results obtained in the study that supported the preparation of the Action Guide for the Final Memory will be presented. The methodology used in the research was qualitative, using an online questionnaire and semi-structured interviews with school directors as tools for data collection.
