Abstract

This study addresses the use of digital games as an educational tool, focusing on empathic gamification for the development of socio-emotional skills such as empathy, cooperation, and conflict resolution. The research explores how games, traditionally considered only as a means of entertainment, can be effectively integrated into the educational context to promote essential skills for social interaction. Through a review of existing literature and the analysis of practical cases, the study identifies promising methods and results in the application of digital games that engage students in a meaningful way, not only to capture their attention but also to cultivate them as more understanding and collaborative individuals. The methodologies involve the careful selection and application of games that encourage empathic narratives, collaborative challenges, and the peaceful resolution of conflicts, highlighting educational benefits beyond traditional engagement. The results indicate that, when applied correctly, digital games can expand the classroom, providing a safe space for the practice of real socio-emotional skills. This work, therefore, contributes to modern pedagogy by offering an in-depth view of gamified strategies for the holistic education of students, preparing them for contemporary social reality.
