EDUCATIONAL PLATFORMIZATION IN THE CONTEXT OF SURVEILLANCE CAPITALISM

The objective of this article is to analyze the integral formation of students in basic education, in the context of educational platformization, shaped by the logic of surveillance capitalism. This socioeconomic logic, characteristic of the digital universe, conducts its operations using digital technologies and their devices, such as digital platforms. These serve as mediation infrastructures through mechanisms of datafication and commodification. They transform human experiences into data and, subsequently, into information that can be commodified by surveillance capitalists. We employ the hermeneutic method to interpret our object of study. The results of the study indicate the need for critical and ongoing training of professionals involved in the educational process, with attention to the risks of manipulation and behavioral modulation mediated by Big Techs. It is concluded that there is an urgent need for a critical and problematizing education regarding the essential elements of this process.
