This article analyzes telemedicine and telehealth as essential tools for managing mental health in smart cities. The objective is to explore innovations, challenges, and global success stories, highlighting the relevance of these technologies in improving access to and the quality of mental health care. The methodology consists of a bibliographic review of recent studies, prioritizing publications from 2020 to 2024 that address the intersection of telemedicine, mental health, and urbanism. The main results indicate that, while telemedicine enhances access to care, there are barriers such as professional resistance and the need for adequate public policies. The conclusions suggest that, to maximize the benefits of telemedicine, it is crucial to implement a robust regulatory framework and promote digital inclusion, ensuring that mental health innovations serve all citizens equitably.
