This text, the result of a master's thesis, aims to socialize the contribution of gamification and the manga textual genre as a bridge to the teaching and learning of deaf speakers of the Brazilian Sign Language (Libras). Data was collected through participant observation and semi-structured interviews with the professionals and with a deaf student, who used Libras, respecting her linguistic specificity and way of expressing herself. The study highlights the importance of teaching Portuguese as a second language in an inclusive school. The results were recorded in a field diary and indicate the urgent need for specific and planned Portuguese language teaching for deaf students, as well as continuing training for the teachers involved. The use of assistive technologies and the need for training in Libras for teachers and hearing students is reinforced, with the aim of promoting a truly inclusive education.
