Abstract

The importance of intangible resources in Strategic Management demands that Strategic Leadership (SL) be solidly founded as a resource. In the global contexto, this foundation transitions from the Resource-Based View (RBV) to Dynamic Capabilities (DC). This study aimed to analyze the volume and intersection of the “Strategic Leadership” constructo with the RBV and DC approaches in national scientific production (2015-2025), in order to identify the foundation gap and analyze the degree of theoretical evolution in the field in Brazil. The quantitative research in the SPELL database identified two central findings: the total absence of articles at the SL and RBV/DC intersection, and the confirmation that the theoretical substitution (RBV declining and DC rising) is underway in Brazilian Strategy. However, the qualitative analysis revealed that the apparent intersection in the Leadership field (27 titles with DC and 6 with RBV) is composed of false positives. The results therefore demonstrate a structural isolation, revealing that Brazilian Leadership literature grows on the margins of Strategy theories, remaining disconnected and with the “Strategic Leadership” resource under-theorizes”.
