Abstract

This paper aims to analyze the tools and teaching resources presented by the selected articles in order to assess the effectiveness in helping the interpretation of geometric shapes in basic education from a systematic literature review, built through the Google Scholar database and SciELO (Scientific Electronic Library Online) with search in themes such as geometry, inclusion, visual impairment and manipulatives in publications that composed the theoretical framework as the basis of the research and selected publications for the analysis performed in the discussion of results, between the years 2012 and 2021. It was a consensus among the selected articles that the use of manipulatives for the visually impaired has the ability to promote significant educational advancement, provided they are well implemented. The students' behavior when facing the implementation of the analyzed resources shows that the barrier imposed by visual impairment can be circumvented, thus enabling inclusive education in geometry.
