This chapter discusses the integration between extension activities and the Institutional Program for Teaching Initiation Scholarships (PIBID) as a powerful scenario for initial teacher training and educational transformation in basic education. The experience reported involves activities carried out in the Anatomy, Botany, Ecology, Microbiology, Science Teaching, and Biology laboratories at the Federal University of Southern Frontier (UFFS), with the active participation of PIBID students from the Interdisciplinary Natural Sciences subproject (2020-2022). The extension activities, developed in events and training projects, demonstrated the relevance of practical experience in the teaching-learning process and the importance of university extension as a promoter of articulation between the university and the community. Using a qualitative and descriptive approach, we discuss how these experiences contribute to teacher training, social engagement, and the strengthening of the link between academic knowledge and school reality.
