Abstract

The general objective of this study was to analyze the impact of teacher training and qualification in Distance Education (DE) with the use of digital technologies, investigating how teacher qualification can positively influence the quality of teaching, pedagogical mediation and the adoption of innovative methodologies in the virtual learning environment. The research, of a bibliographic nature, was based on the analysis of five scientific articles selected from academic databases, from which thematic categories were created: Educational technologies in teacher training; Digital platforms and teacher training; Active methodologies and challenges of DE; Continuing education with digital technologies; and Implications of DE in teacher training. The results showed that, although there are significant advances in the use of technological resources for continuing education, structural difficulties, lack of effective public policies and gaps in the initial training of teachers still persist. It was also found that the use of active methodologies and collaborative virtual environments can favor significant learning of teachers, expanding their pedagogical performance. Continuing teacher training, when well structured, directly contributes to improving the educational process in distance learning. It is concluded that it is essential to expand institutional policies and training strategies that promote the development of digital and pedagogical skills in educators, in addition to encouraging new research on the impact of these trainings on daily practice.
