The main objective of this study is to investigate the importance of adult reading aloud for the neuroplasticity of children. To this end, a qualitative bibliographic research was conducted, considering both physical books and digital articles. The research indicated that the sound of adult speech passes through numerous and complex neural pathways until it reaches distinct areas of the brain so that words, phonemes, prosody, and all other linguistic aspects can be perceived, analyzed, and understood by the child. If the authors define brain plasticity or neuroplasticity as a kind of remodeling or establishment of new pathways for brain functions to be maintained or improved, it is possible to conclude that the repetition of adult reading aloud will lead to constant and important brain activity in the child. The results obtained can be considered in future studies on the relevance of reading aloud for both early diagnosis and early intervention in various childhood developmental disorders.
