HANSEN'S WOODCUTS IN SCHOOL EDUCATION FROM THE PERSPECTIVE OF HISTORICAL-CRITICAL PEDAGOGY

Abstract

The present research aims to understand the woodcuts of the artist Hansen Bahia, those that portray the culture of the Bahian recôncavo, as a possibility of training basic education students in the Art curricular component. The problem consists of: how can Hansen Bahia's woodcuts that portray the culture of the Bahian recôncavo contribute to the formation of basic education students in the Art curricular component? The methodology is based on historical-dialectical materialism, whose approach conceives the socio-historical materiality of man as the main element of analysis for the social phenomena produced by individuals historically situated within a society. Hansen's woodcuts were organized and systematized based on principles and methods presented by historical-critical pedagogy, so that they contribute to a broad education of students in school education, by allowing access to the millennial technique of woodcut and knowledge of the cultural aspects of the Bahian recôncavo in Hansen's works. We conclude that expanding the possibilities of cultural acquisition of students through the teaching of Art becomes an indispensable requirement for a society that intends to become considerably developed in all areas of human extension.
