This study addressed the contribution of assistive technologies in distance education (DE) for promoting the inclusion of students with special educational needs (SEN). The central research problem was to identify how these technologies could be applied to ensure accessibility and effective participation of these students in the remote educational process. The general objective was to analyze the impact of assistive technologies in DE, aiming for a more inclusive education. The adopted methodology was exclusively bibliographical, with a literature review on the technological tools used in the context of distance education and their implications for the inclusion of students with disabilities. In the development section, the role of assistive technologies such as screen readers and text enlargement systems was discussed, highlighting how these tools ensure accessibility and personalized teaching, allowing students with disabilities to actively participate in educational activities. In the final considerations, it was concluded that assistive technologies are essential for inclusion in DE, contributing to the creation of a more equitable learning environment. However, it was emphasized that further studies are needed to explore the effectiveness of these tools in different contexts and to improve teacher training in using these technologies.
