This study addressed the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in distance learning courses, analyzing its advantages, disadvantages, and challenges. It started from the problem: what are the advantages, disadvantages, and challenges of using Artificial Intelligence in distance education? The general objective was to analyze the main impacts of AI in this teaching modality. The methodology was based on bibliographic research, drawing on authors who explore the relationship between technology and education. The development identified AI contributions such as personalized learning, task automation, and individualized student monitoring. However, significant limitations were observed, including digital exclusion, ethical concerns regarding data use, and the need for proper teacher training. The final considerations indicated that, although AI holds great potential to enhance Distance Education, its implementation requires planning, ethical principles, and public policies that ensure equitable access to technology. The study contributed to a critical understanding of AI in distance learning and highlighted the need for further research in diverse educational contexts.
