Abstract

Objective: To analyze the main nursing interventions aimed at adolescents with anxiety disorders. Method: Integrative literature review conducted in March 2026 using the PubMed, Virtual Health Library (VHL), LILACS, and SciELO databases. Mendeley and Rayyan software were used for reference management and study screening. Eighteen primary studies published between 2016 and 2026, in Portuguese and English, with experimental, quasi-experimental, and observational designs were included. Results: Randomized and non-randomized clinical trials predominated (61.1%). Most studies (66.7%) investigated non-specific anxiety symptoms; among specific disorders, Generalized Anxiety Disorder was the most frequent (16.7%), followed by Social Anxiety Disorder (11.1%) and Panic Disorder (11.1%). The main identified risk factors were psychological (77.8%), family-related (72.2%), and school-related (66.7%). The nursing interventions with the strongest evidence were psychoeducation (55.6%), adapted Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (50.0%), and relaxation techniques (50.0%). The most frequent care settings were primary health care (61.1%) and schools (55.6%). Conclusion: Nursing plays a strategic role in promoting mental health among adolescents with anxiety disorders. Evidence-based interventions, especially psychoeducation and adapted Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, proved effective and applicable in primary care and school settings. Further Brazilian studies, longitudinal designs, and cost-effectiveness analyses are needed.
