THE CRISIS IN SCIENTIFIC TRUST IN THE AGE OF GENERATIVE ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE: EPISTEMOLOGICAL IMPLICATIONS AND CHALLENGES TO COPYRIGHT LAW

This article analyzes the impacts of the use of artificial intelligence in academic production, focusing on the challenges posed to copyright and the definition of authorship. It starts from the observation that the incorporation of algorithmic tools in the scientific writing process alters the traditional bases of knowledge construction, especially regarding originality and intellectual responsibility. The research problem consists of understanding to what extent the current legal regime, including normative initiatives such as Bill No. 2338/2023, is able to respond to the transformations resulting from this scenario. The objective is to critically examine the sufficiency of existing norms, as well as to identify the limitations of the current model in the face of production mediated by artificial intelligence. To this end, the deductive method is adopted, with a qualitative approach, based on the analysis of previously selected doctrinal and normative references, seeking to delimit the legal contours of authorship in contexts of artificial intelligence use.
