Abstract

Agile methodologies emerged as an alternative to traditional software development models, offering greater flexibility, adaptability, and a focus on continuous value delivery. In the context of digital transformation, organizations in various sectors have adopted agile approaches to deal with complexity, reduce costs, accelerate deliveries, and increase customer satisfaction. Agile is based on the Agile Manifesto (2001), which prioritizes individuals, collaboration, rapid response to change, and continuous product operation. This study presents a synthesis of the main agile frameworks, such as Scrum, Kanban, and Extreme Programming (XP), discusses organizational challenges and benefits, and highlights the importance of a collaborative culture for the successful implementation of agile practices. It concludes that agile methods constitute a strategic model for companies seeking innovation, competitive leadership, and alignment between technology and business needs.
