MENTAL HEALTH AND PSYCHOSOCIAL CARE IN THE WORKPLACE: AN ANALYSIS OF CURRENT DEMANDS BASED ON CFP GUIDELINES AND NR-01

Abstract

Mental health in the workplace has become an emerging issue in the face of increasing production demands, the impacts of globalization, and the intensification of work processes. In this context, psychosocial care is an indispensable tool for promoting worker well-being and preventing illnesses resulting from occupational stress. This article aims to analyze current demands related to mental health at work, based on the guidelines of the Federal Council of Psychology (CFP) and the regulations established by Regulatory Standard No. 01 (NR-01). The research is based on a qualitative, exploratory, and analytical literature review, encompassing publications from the last ten years in national and international scientific databases. The results indicate that, although there are advances in public policies and legal regulations, a gap persists between legislation and effective practice in organizations, highlighting the need for integrated strategies that include psychosocial risk assessment, mental health programs, and preventive interventions aligned with the ethical guidelines of the CFP.  It is concluded that promoting mental health requires collaboration between employers, workers, and health professionals, reinforcing the importance of institutional policies of support and actions that minimize the impacts of psychological distress at work. Finally, it is highlighted that building healthy work environments is an indispensable condition for organizational sustainability and for valuing human dignity.
