NURSING CARE IN PEDIATRIC SURGICAL PREPARATION: HUMANIZATION AND PLAYFUL CARE STRATEGIES

This study aims to analyze the importance of the playroom as a therapeutic tool in the preoperative preparation of hospitalized children. The research, developed through an integrative review of national and international literature, showed that the use of therapeutic toys and play activities contributes to the reduction of anxiety, fear, and emotional pain in children. Through play, simulations with dolls, painting, and symbolic transportation, the child understands the hospital environment and surgical procedures in a lighter and safer way. It was observed that the nurse's role is essential in this process, promoting humanized care and strengthening the bond between the team, the child, and the family. It is concluded that the implementation of the playroom in health units is an effective strategy to improve the pediatric experience and enhance nursing care in the surgical context.
