Abstract

Introduction: The current generation of students, influenced by factors such as digital technology, globalization, and socioeconomic changes, demonstrates distinct characteristics compared to traditional educational models. This generation is marked by fluid information absorption, greater digital connectivity, and a propensity for collaboration and diversity. Education, therefore, needs to evolve to incorporate methods that stimulate creativity, critical thinking, and adaptability, in tune with the intrinsic characteristics of this new generation. Objective: To analyze how liquid modernity influences educational practices and teaching in light of the characteristics of the current generation of students. Methodology: This work used descriptive bibliographic research. Results: The implications of liquid modernity and generational characteristics have brought about significant transformations in the contemporary educational context. It is understood that this generation brings with it unique expectations and characteristics, such as a natural ability to deal with technology from an early age, greater fluidity in digital communication, and a tendency to seek information quickly and fragmentedly. This requires educators to have a deep understanding of the specific needs and skills of Generation Alpha, as well as the ability to adapt their pedagogical practices to effectively meet these demands. Final considerations: In conclusion, it was concluded that liquid modernity poses significant challenges for educational institutions, which must be agile and innovative in their pedagogical approach to ensure effective teaching. Thus, the overall objective of this study was achieved.
