USING INVISALIGN AS AN ALTERNATIVE TO ORTHOGNATHIC SURGERY FOR CLASS III MALOCCLUSION: A COMPREHENSIVE REVIEW AND CASE REPORT

Resumen

Class III malocclusion is a complex orthodontic condition often requiring orthognathic surgery for skeletal correction. However, advancements in clear aligner therapy, such as Invisalign, have opened possibilities for non-surgical treatment approaches, especially in borderline or moderate cases. This comprehensive review examines the use of Invisalign to avoid orthognathic surgery in Class III malocclusion by exploring treatment efficacy, biomechanical strategies, and patient outcomes. And show a sucessful treatment made with Invisalign for this complex case of Classe III maloclusion with open bite. Through an analysis of clinical studies, case reports, and expert opinions, this review highlights the potential and limitations of clear aligners in achieving satisfactory functional and aesthetic results without surgery.
