ATUAÇÃO DO NUTRICIONISTA E O MÉTODO CANGURU NO CUIDADO MATERNO-INFANTIL: REVISÃO NARRATIVA

O presente apresenta uma revisão narrativa de 25 artigos publicados em inglês entre 1997 e 2023, selecionados nas bases de dados Embase, Scopus e PubMed. O objetivo central foi analisar de que forma a integração das ações nutricionais e dos princípios do Método Canguru (MC) reforça a humanização, a equidade e a integralidade do cuidado materno-infantil. Os resultados evidenciam que o MC, quando mantido por pelo menos seis horas diárias, é eficaz para o crescimento infantil, promovendo ganho de peso, estatura e aumento da circunferência craniana. Além disso, demonstrou impacto positivo no aumento da produção de leite materno e no prolongamento da amamentação. Conclui-se que, apesar dos desafios relacionados à implementação nos sistemas públicos de saúde, especialmente no que se refere ao financiamento, diretrizes e à gestão de recursos humanos, a integração da nutrição com o MC configura-se como estratégia essencial para a promoção de cuidados materno-infantil humanizados e equitativos.
