EL PAPEL DEL NUTRICIONISTA Y EL MÉTODO CANGURO EN LA ATENCIÓN MATERNOINFANTIL: UNA REVISIÓN NARRATIVA

Este artículo presenta una revisión narrativa de 25 artículos publicados en inglés entre 1997 y 2023, seleccionados de las bases de datos Embase, Scopus y PubMed. El objetivo principal fue analizar cómo la integración de acciones nutricionales y los principios del método madre canguro (MMC) refuerza la humanización, la equidad y la integralidad de la atención maternoinfantil. Los resultados muestran que el MMC, cuando se mantiene durante al menos seis horas diarias, es eficaz para el crecimiento infantil, promoviendo el aumento de peso, la estatura y el perímetro cefálico. Además, demostró un impacto positivo en el aumento de la producción de leche materna y la prolongación de la lactancia. Se concluye que, a pesar de los desafíos relacionados con la implementación en los sistemas de salud pública, especialmente en lo que respecta a la financiación, las directrices y la gestión de recursos humanos, la integración de la nutrición con el MMC es una estrategia esencial para promover una atención maternoinfantil humanizada y equitativa.
