EFECTOS DE LA SUPLEMENTACIÓN DIARIA CON SALES DE CALCIO DE ÁCIDOS GRASOS DE ACEITE DE PALMA SOBRE LA CALIDAD DEL ESPERMA DE LOS SEMENTALES

El objetivo de este estudio fue evaluar los efectos de la suplementación diaria con sales cálcicas de ácidos grasos procedentes del aceite de palma (Elaeis guineenses y Elaeis oleifera) sobre la calidad espermática de los sementales, relacionar el perfil de ácidos grasos y otros componentes del aceite de palma con la mejora de la calidad espermática, verificar las concentraciones de lípidos séricos y las concentraciones plasmáticas de esteroides de los animales suplementados. Se utilizaron 12 sementales, los cuales se dividieron en 2 grupos, Control y Suplementados. El grupo suplementado recibió 300 g del suplemento (Agelac 84®) diariamente divididos en 2 dosis diarias de 150 g mezclados con el concentrado durante un período de 60 días. Se recolectaron muestras de semen y sangre cada 15 días durante 60 días, completando 5 momentos de muestreo desde el día cero. Las medias de los tratamientos para cada día se compararon mediante la prueba t de Student, adoptando un nivel de significancia del 5%. Se observó un resultado significativo (P = 0,02) con un aumento en la concentración de espermatozoides en el grupo suplementado en D60. Hubo una tendencia significativa de mejoría en la prueba hiposmótica (p = 0,06) a lo largo del tratamiento en los pacientes suplementados. No se observaron cambios en las concentraciones de cortisol, testosterona y estradiol. Los lípidos séricos se mantuvieron en niveles fisiológicos, aunque aumentaron a lo largo del período experimental.
