MESONEPHRIC ADENOCARCINOMA-LIKE OF THE OVARY: A CASE REPORT

Objective: To report a case of mesonephric-like adenocarcinoma of the ovary, a rare neoplasm with a challenging diagnosis due to its morphological similarity to other ovarian carcinomas. Case: A 57-year-old woman presented with intermittent pelvic pain and underwent imaging studies (ultrasonography and magnetic resonance imaging) and biopsies. Histopathological and immunohistochemical analyses confirmed the diagnosis of mesonephric-like adenocarcinoma of the ovary. The patient underwent surgical treatment with oophorectomy, total abdominal hysterectomy, and pelvic lymphadenectomy. Conclusion: This case highlights the importance of recognizing this rare tumor entity and adopting a multidisciplinary approach for accurate diagnosis and appropriate management, aiming at improved prognosis and disease control.
