This study explores sustainability through a multidisciplinary lens, covering topics such as bioethics, seed storage, and the complex relationships between biodiversity and globalization. The analysis addresses the tension between an economy driven by greed and the need for an economy that respects natural limits, emphasizing the importance of an organic and holistic worldview. The concept of Sustainable Development (SD) is also examined, from its definition in the Brundtland Report to the various political and ideological interpretations that shape public policies and governance. The study highlights "inner changes" as an essential element for sustainable transformation, arguing that internal shifts in values and individual consciousness are crucial to addressing environmental and social crises. By analyzing cases such as the appropriation of seed patents and the Mariana environmental disaster, the work underscores the complexities and challenges of sustainability in the contemporary era. It concludes that sustainability requires not only changes in public policies and economic practices but also a profound internal transformation of individuals.
