OBSTETRIC VIOLENCE AND IMPACTS ON THE HUMANIZATION OF CHILDBIRTH: AN INTEGRATIVE REVIEW

Objective: To analyze the impacts of obstetric violence on the promotion of humanized childbirth, considering its implications for labor and birth care. Method: Integrative review study with data collected from PubMed, Scielo, Lilacs, and BVS databases. The guiding question was: "What are the impacts of obstetric violence on the humanization of childbirth and women's health?". Ten articles that met the selection criteria were selected and presented in a synoptic table containing the study title, journal, year of publication, approach, results, and thematic categories associated with obstetric violence. Results: Postpartum depression, difficulties in bonding with the baby, dissatisfaction with health services, and loss of trust in professionals are associated with obstetric violence suffered by women. Conclusion: It is noteworthy that a lack of training on the humanization of childbirth, a lack of information about women's rights in labor and birth care, and a lack of adherence to good obstetric practices contribute to obstetric violence.
