VOICES IN DEBATE: REPERCUSSIONS AMONG USERS OF RITA VON HUNTY'S BODILY AND DISCURSIVE PERFORMANCES ON THE TEMPERO DRAG CHANNEL

Rita Von Hunty is a Brazilian drag queen and creator of the YouTube channel "Tempero Drag", where she addresses topics such as politics, philosophy, sociology and history, with an emphasis on issues of body(ies), gender(s) and sexuality(ies). The channel fosters an active and engaged community, highlighting its influence on education and social transformation. In this context, the objective of this article was to analyze the repercussions of the followers of the “Tempero Drag” channel on a set of videos by Rita Von Hunty between 2021 and 2022. The method used was qualitative, descriptive and analytical, using a methodological strategy of non-participant observation. Data were collected from 13 videos with more than 400 thousand views. The analysis technique used was cultural analysis, and the repercussions among users of Rita Von Hunty's bodily and discursive performances were analyzed, with an emphasis on the themes of (1) body(ies), gender(s) and sexuality(ies), (2) LGBTphobia, (3) heterocisnormativity and misogyny, and (4) control of bodies and biopower. YouTube is a crucial space for political action by marginalized groups, such as the LGBTQIAPN+ population, due to the visibility and communication it offers. Her bodily and discursive performances are praised for making complex topics accessible and for raising social awareness. Rita's presence as a drag queen promotes LGBTQIAPN+ empowerment and representation, challenging stereotypes. Her work inspires viewers to seek more knowledge and engage in critical discussions. In the comments of the videos, users express opinions that reflect shared meanings, but which are not always logically founded. Analyzing these interactions is essential to understand the subjects who participate, comment and dialogue on the platform.
