GEOREFERENCED HERITAGE: SURVEY AND MAPPING OF LISTED PROPERTIES IN THE SOUTH OF SANTA CATARINA

This article presents the results of a survey and mapping of listed properties in southern Santa Catarina, with an emphasis on the application of geoprocessing technologies for the documentation and dissemination of architectural and urban heritage. The investigation involved contact with official bodies, such as the Santa Catarina Culture Foundation (FCC), the National Institute of Historical and Artistic Heritage (IPHAN), and municipal governments, aiming to consolidate data that was still dispersed and non-standardized. The study resulted in the creation of a georeferenced database in QGIS software, integrating information on 41 listed properties at the state and federal levels, including buildings, urban complexes, and properties of historical and cultural value. The standardization of the information not only allowed for more accurate spatial analyses but also paved the way for the implementation of a future publicly accessible interactive platform. The work highlights how the use of geoprocessing and georeferencing can overcome barriers to heritage preservation, promote transparency, and facilitate the engagement of public officials, researchers, and civil society in the appreciation of Santa Catarina's cultural heritage.
