LEIOMYOMA OF THE PROSTATE: A CASE REPORT AND OUTLIER IMAGING

Leiomyomas are uncommon mesenchymal tumors arising from smooth muscle fibers, their appearence in the prostate is rare. Imaging of the leiomyomas in the MRI presents classically with a homogeneous mass with an isointense signal relative to the muscle on a T1-weighted image and a slightly hyperintense signal on a T2-weighted image. Our case presents a young man, with unusual imaging findings compared to the other cases.
