ECONOMIC FEASIBILITY ANALYSIS FOR THE IMPLEMENTATION OF A SELF-SERVICE LAUNDROMAT IN MANAUS

Abstract

This study analyzes the economic feasibility of implementing a self-service laundry in the city of Manaus, Amazonas, considering the specific characteristics of the local market. The main objective of the research is to evaluate the economic and financial feasibility of the venture by analyzing indicators such as Net Present Value (NPV), Internal Rate of Return (IRR), and payback period, comparing three major franchisors in the Brazilian market: Acqua Lavanderia, Laundr Express, and Omo Lavanderia. The methodology used is characterized as applied research of a quantitative and qualitative nature, with exploratory and descriptive objectives, based on a case study focused on the Manaus market. Data collection included secondary sources such as IBGE, ANEEL, Amazonas Energia, and primary data obtained through field research and interviews. The results indicated that viability is conditioned by specific factors such as strategic location, efficient management of operating costs, especially electricity, and appropriate pricing and customer base building strategies. The study contributes to knowledge about entrepreneurship in the urban services sector, offering insights for investors and entrepreneurs interested in the self-service laundry segment.
