This article aimed to analyze, in light of educational literature, the foundations, obstacles, and strategies related to the partnership between school and family in the context of student development. The topic addressed the articulation between these two institutions as a determining factor for academic success, recognizing that family involvement in the educational process contributes to the maintenance of school engagement, enhances performance in pedagogical activities, and strengthens interpersonal interactions within the educational environment. The investigation was conducted through bibliographic research, based on the reading, selection, and critical analysis of theoretical sources published between 1997 and 2025, available on the Google Scholar database. Authors with consolidated work in the field of education were considered, whose contributions enabled an in-depth understanding of the challenges and possibilities inherent to this institutional relationship. The results showed that the bond between school and family is weakened by factors such as the lack of effective communication channels, the work overload of guardians, the insufficient training of education professionals to address family diversity, and the persistence of exclusionary management models. On the other hand, strategies for rapprochement were identified, such as the creation of listening spaces, encouragement of participation in decision-making processes, and the appreciation of family knowledge. It was concluded that strengthening collaborative ties between school and guardians requires deliberate planning, qualification of education professionals, and restructuring of institutional dynamics.
