Integrated Pest Management (IPM) is a strategic approach aimed at the rational control of harmful organisms in crop fields. This technique seeks to reduce pesticide dependency, promote environmental sustainability, and ensure the economic viability of commercial crops. This article analyzes the principles of IPM and its practical application in various agricultural contexts, highlighting its role in reducing chemical residues, preserving biodiversity, and increasing the resilience of production systems. The research is based on a review of recent literature, emphasizing the need for public policies and technical training to consolidate this sustainable model in the agricultural sector. The results indicate that IPM, when properly implemented, offers effective alternatives to conventional chemical control, supporting the transition toward more balanced and safer production systems.
