This study addressed the organization and management of educational centers, addressing the following research question: How could school organization and management foster more collaborative pedagogical practices consistent with the principles of a democratic school? The overall objective was to analyze how the organization and management of educational centers influenced pedagogical and administrative processes in public schools. To achieve this goal, a literature review methodology was adopted, based on publications published between 2020 and 2024, selected based on criteria of thematic relevance and direct relationship to the study's objective. Analysis of the materials demonstrated that the organization of pedagogical work was related to the coordination between administration, coordination, and teachers, and that democratic management encountered limits and possibilities in the work of school councils and the institutional structure. The results also indicated that listening and continuing education were among the key elements that contributed to strengthening management practices. Furthermore, it was found that the actions of the evaluation committees and the careful management of institutional memory helped to make decisions more consistent with the school's needs. It was concluded that school management, when structured based on participation and dialogue, fostered more integrated practices committed to collective work. Further studies in specific contexts were recommended to further explore this topic.
