This article discusses the technical, regulatory, and strategic aspects of green hydrogen (H2V) in Brazil, highlighting its potential within the country's clean energy matrix. Production by electrolysis, while still costly (US$2.87 to US$7/kg), is likely to decline with technological advances and institutional support. Regions such as the Northeast, with abundant solar and wind power, and the ports of Pecém and Suape, are identified as strategic for export. The study analyzes H2V applications in industry, heavy transportation, and energy storage. It also addresses challenges related to safety and the lack of specific regulations. It reinforces the importance of public policies and infrastructure investments. Brazil, with its renewable capacity and privileged geographic position, can become one of the world's largest producers and exporters of H2V, promoting economic growth, innovation, and sustainability.
