Abstract

This research aimed to analyze the brain drain phenomenon in Angola, based on real data obtained through a questionnaire administered to Angolans living abroad. The research seeks to understand the main factors that influence the emigration of skilled professionals, present recommended public policies, and provide examples of international and African success that can serve as inspiration. This required the use of a quantitative and descriptive methodology, and the representative sample consisted of 17 Angolans living abroad. The results showed that factors such as insufficient academic training, lack of professional development paths, inadequate pay, and a compromised quality of life are the main drivers of the emigration of skilled professionals.
