Effective methods suggest a paradigm shift in which the student becomes the protagonist and reformer of the teaching process, while the teacher assumes the role of mediator, creating a space for interaction and active participation of students. The methodology adopted in this research consisted of a bibliographic review with a qualitative approach, based on the analysis of national literature. The publications were consulted in databases available on the online platforms Scielo and Google Scholar, with emphasis on authors such as Masini; Moreira, (2008); Miranda (2019); Novak (1998), among others. The objective of the research was to analyze how meaningful learning, combined with active teaching strategies, can be applied in Physical Education classes in basic education. From the perspective of meaningful learning, the adoption of active methods not only favors the acquisition of theoretical knowledge, but also promotes the development of motor, social and emotional skills. Through these practices, students learn to work as a team, make decisions, resolve conflicts and reflect on their own actions, acquiring essential skills for an integral and civic education.
