Method: A descriptive epidemiological cross-sectional study was conducted by applying an online questionnaire to collect data on the presence of pain, sociodemographic characteristics, and the characteristics of the respondents' pain. The data were analyzed using the Spearman correlation test and chi-square using the SPSS 21.0 software for Windows. Results and discussion: A total of 434 individuals participated, with a predominance of women (62%) between 26 and 34 years old. The prevalence of chronic pain was 52.8%. In terms of education, 24% had completed higher education, and 4.1% had incomplete elementary education. The high prevalence of chronic pain, especially in women, reflects national data and reinforces the importance of strategies for the prevention and treatment of this condition, aiming at improvements in quality of life.
