This study analyzed the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in distance learning courses, focusing on personalized learning. The central problem was understanding the advantages, disadvantages, and challenges of implementing AI in this educational context. The general objective was to investigate how AI could enhance the learning experience by adapting content to students' individual needs and what difficulties arise from its adoption. The methodology used was bibliographic research, involving the analysis of existing studies on AI in education. In the development, it was identified that AI has the potential to create personalized learning paths, optimizing learning and providing instant feedback. However, challenges such as teacher resistance, lack of technological infrastructure, and ethical concerns related to student data privacy were also noted. In the final considerations, the study's contributions were highlighted, reinforcing the importance of a careful integration of AI in distance learning platforms, balancing technology with human interaction. The research suggests the need for further studies, particularly on the impact of AI on digital inclusion and the socio-emotional development of students.
