Abstract

Objective: To identify factors present in the current literature that emphasize the importance of nursing care for people with needs arising from the use of psychoactive substances in Alcohol and Other Drugs Psychosocial Care Centers. Methods: An integrative review was conducted from July to October 2024. The inclusion criteria for the study were: articles published from 2019 to 2024 in the Virtual Health Library, Nursing Database, Scientific Electronic Library Online, Latin American and Caribbean Health Sciences Literature, and Medical Literature Analysis and Retrieval System Online via PubMed databases, in Portuguese, English, and Spanish, and available in full text. Results: The combination of descriptors used resulted in 670 articles, which, after careful analysis, were selected to compose the research, according to the selected inclusion criteria. Conclusion: Nursing care is extremely important for the assistance provided by the multidisciplinary team at the Alcohol and Other Drugs Psychosocial Care Centers; however, further studies on the subject are needed in greater detail.
