The article aims to highlight the ways in which women participate in artisanal fishing in the communities of the Juarembu and Baixo Anapú rivers, in the municipality of Igarapé-Miri, Baixo Tocantins, Pará. The collection and analysis of the information obtained occurred within the scope of qualitative research. A total of seven artisanal fisherwomen participated in the research. The study revealed that the forms of participation of women in artisanal fishing activities occur in fishing work, in this sense, they are activities developed by the fisherwomen: matapi fishing, net fishing, rod fishing and handline fishing. According to the respondents, the combination of two or more fishing activities contributes to increased productivity, however, this is largely directed towards household consumption. As for fish, the list of these follows popular names such as mapará, pescada, tucunaré, jacundá, among others. The results of the research helped us to verify how engaged the fisherwomen are in their fishing activities. In addition, how competent they are in balancing fishing work and household work, since they are all mothers.
