Abstract

This work presents a system of recognition of tattoo images automatically in a database, which can be used to help in the correct identification of criminals who have this type of body mark, its meaning and the possible identification of criminal factions to which they belong.  The technique of parameter extraction and image recognition is based on the Scale Invariant Feature Transform (SIFT) algorithm. This work describes the experimental protocols and test cases that must be followed and that will allow the comparison of consistent performance of tattoo recognition methods.
