Results: The study on socio-environmental vulnerability and public safety in landfill areas in the region of the Lake of the Tucuruí Hydroelectric Power Plant highlights the complexity and interconnection between environmental, social and public safety factors. Using the Social Vulnerability Index (SVI) and the Social Progress Index (SPI), the study revealed how poor urban infrastructure, inadequate water supply and lack of garbage collection contribute to increasing the vulnerability of local communities, and consequently increasing social risks for the resident population of these areas.
