Abstract

Objective: To analyze changes in expressive language in individuals post-stroke, emphasizing the functional impacts and speech-language pathology approaches described in the literature. Methods: An integrative literature review, descriptive in nature and with a qualitative approach, was conducted in the SciELO, PubMed, and Google Scholar databases, encompassing publications between 2015 and 2026. After applying the inclusion and exclusion criteria, 10 articles were selected and analyzed. Results: The studies showed that changes in expressive language post-stroke are frequently associated with lesions in the left hemisphere, compromising functional communication, social interaction, and quality of life. Conclusion: Expressive changes resulting from stroke significantly impact communicative functionality, making early speech-language pathology intervention fundamental for the rehabilitation and social reintegration of these individuals.
