CAREER GUIDANCE IN THE AGE OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE

This article analyzes the historical evolution and paradigmatic rearrangements of Career Guidance, spanning from the First Industrial Revolution to the contemporary era of Artificial Intelligence. The central objective is to investigate how cognitive automation and the rapid obsolescence of skills impose the need for perennial assistential support, moving beyond static adjustment models. Through a theoretical reflection grounded in the transition from Life Design to Lifelong Guidance, the study proposes the emergence of a new paradigm: Cognitive Symbiosis. In this model, AI is understood as a reflective extension of the subject, requiring the professional to ethically orchestrate digital ecosystems and develop algorithmic maturity. It concludes that the role of the psychologist as a mediator is indispensable for ensuring the preservation of human agency and biographical meaning in the face of algorithmic determinism, operating under the human-in-the-loop logic in strict compliance with the current ethical guidelines of the Federal Council of Psychology.
