This study analyzes the social and emotional impacts of misinformation on the Brazilian elderly population, investigating how the architecture of instant messaging platforms facilitates the manipulation of emotions. The theoretical framework is anchored in the algorithmic governmentality of Pablo Ornelas Rosa and the network analysis of Tarcízio Silva, using Paulo Freire's pedagogy of autonomy as a means of resistance. The research is enriched by the author's practical observation in the field of police investigation, where combating false information proves to be a challenge for public safety and health.
