Lettuce (Lactuca sativa L.) is a leafy vegetable known and consumed worldwide, also widely cultivated by small producers and even in small urban spaces. Therefore, this study aimed to evaluate the response of curly and iceberg lettuce in an urban environment. The experimental design was a randomized block design with three treatments: one as a control, and the others as two doses of 20-00-20 fertilizer, at 150 kg/ha and 300 kg/ha. Each plot contained 6 plants spaced 0.20 x 0.20 m. The doses were applied 15 days after transplanting, without planting fertilization. The iceberg lettuce treatments did not differ statistically for all agronomic variables, a situation contrary to that of curly lettuce. The treatment with the highest fertilizer concentration (300 kg/ha) showed better results for both curly and iceberg lettuce. Chemical fertilization shows better results in lettuce cultivation, as it is a short-cycle crop.
