Abstract

This article presents data from an undergraduate research project conducted at the Federal Center for Technological Education of Minas Gerais (CEFET-MG), which aimed to conceive, elaborate, and develop a Multidisciplinary Knowledge Olympiad as an instrument for disseminating and popularizing science among high school students. Among the stages of the investigation, we highlight the bibliographic reviews to understand the contexts of scientific olympiads, analyses of existing models, and the development of a platform for one of the Olympiad's stages, as well as the creation of its management system. Although the practical event is still pending, the preliminary results of the bibliographic review point to the potential of olympiads for the training of young scientists, stimulating analytical, problem-solving, and knowledge-in-depth skills. We hope that this proposal will serve as a model for other actions that corroborate the effectiveness of Knowledge Olympiads as facilitators of scientific dissemination and also as a formative aid for young, curious minds engaged in the pursuit and sharing of knowledge.
